Foot Print Wales

Welcome

Securing a comfortable wage and a good quality of life are generally what people strive for. But is there a way we can achieve this inline with reducing our environmental impact? The Wales Footprint Network thinks we can.

The Footprint Wales Network is a voluntary group which aims to strengthen the Ecological Footprint as a tool to measure and promote social and economic sustainability in Wales. Through this website the Network aims to share successes and opportunities of footprinting so that they can start taking action to reducing their global impact. It invites organisations from within Wales who share this goal to join.

It is made up of a range of organisations including academics, government agencies, not for profit organisations and the Welsh Assembly Government who are dedicated to using the Footprint as a tool for measuring and helping to reduce our environmental impact on the world.

The problem, as discovered by using the ecological footprint is that if everyone consumed natural resources and produced CO2 at the rate we do in Wales, we’d need three planet Earths to support us.

Through using the Ecological Footprint the Network can help decide on the best policies and lifestyle choices to make our lives in Wales more sustainable so that we move towards a One Planet Wales.
