CENTRE OF ALTERNATIVE TECHNOLOGY, MACHYNLLETH

Is using Eco Footprinting as an educational tool in schools to raise awareness of issues and solutions to encourage behaviour change. The schools are used as a vehicle to reach the wider community.

ECODYFI

Is using the EF tool to engage with community groups and individuals within the Dyfi valley to ascertain their footprint, but more importantly to support positive behavioural changes towards more sustainable lifestyles.

WWF CYMRU
WWF is one of the founding partners of the Global Footprint Network and led the Reducing Wales’ Ecological Footprint project. WWF is now using the footprint analysis to help transform Wales’ nation from its current three planet level to a One Planet Wales nation.

CARDIFF COUNCIL
The Council's Sustainable Development Unit will use the findings of the Cardiff Footprint to determine policy and as a tool to brief the local authority on how to meet its sustainable development goals. Cardiff schools will also be using eco footprinting as an educational resource and a management tool.

CARDIFF UNIVERSITY, THE CENTRE FOR BUSINESS RELATIONSHIPS, ACCOUNTABILITY, SUSTAINABILITY AND SOCIETY (BRASS)
BRASS is continuing with its research on ecological footprinting by considering how it is used as an approach to understand the sustainability impacts of their activities and policies, how it has been used to inform policy decisions, and educate individuals and communities in adopting sustainable behaviours. BRASS also plans to use the ecological footprint to analyse the impacts of major events.

CYNNAL CYMRU
Responding to messages arising from the Ecological Footprint work, Cynnal Cymru has been examining the potential benefits to Wales of a low-carbon, localised economy. Furthermore, examples of the enterprises that might feature in such an economy are being compiled in http://www.sustainwales.com/home/en/, Cynnal Cymru's web-based directory of sustainable businesses and projects in Wales.

ENVIRONMENT AGENCY WALES
Environment Agency Wales has been a member ofthe Footprint Wales network since it was launched. Through this, we keepup to date with the latest developmentsandlearn from other organisations' experience. We recognise the Footprint messagesand have programmes in place to reduce energy use and water consumption in our all our main offices, and to reduce ourbusiness mileage.

FSCE
Field Studies Council, an NGO with four environmental education centres in Wales has developed an ecological footprint calculator for schools in Wales (http://www.schoolsfootprint.co.uk/). The FSC is continuing to work on footprint calculators for schools in England and other European countries.

GWYNEDD COUNCIL
The Council's Sustainable Development Team is looking at ways in which to use the findings of the Gwynedd Footprint to determine policy and as a tool to brief the local authority on how to meet its sustainable development goals. The Ecological Footprint will also be used as an educational and awareness raising tool.

RSPB CYMRU
RSPB Cymru welcomes inclusion of the Ecological Footprint as one of WAG's headline SD indicators; we believe that its value lies in the sectoral analyses, e.g. food and energy consumption, as indicators of where in particular policy changes towards sustainability are most needed.

STOCKHOLM ENVIRONMENTAL INSTITUTE
The Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) at York, is undertaking research in Sustainable Consumption by employing environmental assessment methods like Material Flow Analysis (MFA) and Ecological Footprint (EF). This research not only accounts for environmental impacts caused by the consumption of materials, products and energy but also provides a sound basis for evidence-based policy-making.

WELSH ASSEMBLY GOVERNMENT
Is the only government in the world to use the footprint as an indicator of progress for its overarching Sustainable Development Scheme, Learning to Live Differently. The results will be used to determine policy and to communicate the challenges of sustainable development.
